As the founder and Medical Director of De Haar Hair Restoration, Saskatchewan’s only clinic dedicated exclusively to the diagnosis and treatment of hair loss, Dr. Gerbrands has helped patients from across Canada and abroad find answers, restore their hair, and regain their confidence.

What makes Dr. Gerbrands unique is the depth of her medical experience. In addition to her work in hair restoration, she continues to serve as a Hospitalist and Critical Care Physician in Regina, where she is part of the Rapid Response and Code Blue teams responsible for treating critically ill patients and managing medical emergencies. She also serves as Medical Director for a leading medical aesthetics clinic, overseeing patient safety, clinical standards, treatment protocols, and regulatory compliance.

This extensive medical background allows her to approach hair loss differently. Rather than simply treating symptoms, Dr. Gerbrands focuses on identifying the underlying cause of each patient’s condition and developing a personalized treatment plan based on sound medical evidence.

Originally trained in South Africa, Dr. Gerbrands earned her medical degree from the University of Pretoria before completing advanced training in Anesthesiology. After immigrating to Canada in 1998, she obtained her Canadian medical licensure and certification in Family Medicine, building a distinguished career in acute care medicine, hospital medicine, critical care, and medical aesthetics.

Driven by a passion for helping patients suffering from hair loss, Dr. Gerbrands pursued advanced education in hair restoration and earned her diploma through the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ABHRS). She is also an active member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), regularly collaborating with leading physicians and specialists from around the world while staying at the forefront of the latest advances in hair restoration science and surgical techniques.

Dr. Gerbrands specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of alopecia, hair thinning, and scalp disorders. Her expertise includes medical hair restoration, regenerative therapies, prescription treatments, scalp biopsies, non-surgical hair restoration procedures, and advanced hair transplantation. She has extensive experience treating both common and rare forms of hair loss and is known for creating highly individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
